Howard E. Boone, 76, of Hernando, died Friday (Dec. 3, 2004) in the Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. He was born in Somerville, Mass., and came to Hernando in 1992 from Bedford, Mass. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War (1950-1953). He was a sales service manager for Rand-Whitney Container and Continental Can Co. He was a member of the Inverness Elks Lodge 2522, Masonic Lodge, American Legion and headed the Citrus Garden Clubs efforts to beautify the Pine Hill Cemetery in Inverness. He volunteered at the Ted Williams Museum. He was a member of the Hancock Congregational Church. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Joan D.; three sons, George A., Akron, Ohio, Robert H., Leominster, Mass., and James R., Salem, Mass.; a daughter, Pamela B. Canu, Gardner, Mass.; a sister, Marjorie D. Eaker, Mansfield, Mass.; and two grandchildren.
