MARGIE BROYLES Josephine Margaret "Margie" Broyles, 93, was received by her Lord on August 15, 2015, with her beloved family by her side. Margie was born on August 17, 1922 in Winnfield, Louisiana. She was raised in Houston, TX, the oldest and only daughter of 7 children. She is survived by 3 brothers, Archie Jr, Frank, and Zack Hicks and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Chester Broyles, and her great- grandson, Oliver William Peterson, brother -in -law, Jack E Broyles, niece, Barbara Jean Broyles. She has two daughters, Margie Nelle (Ted) Miller, Patricia (Peter)Peterson. Grandchildren, Tiffany Egan, Patrick Miller, Amy Peterson Mangefeste, John Peterson, James Peterson, Michael Peterson and 9 great -grandchildren. Margie came to Chico as a young war bride in 1943. She married into one of the early Chico pioneer families. Margie spent her early career as a bookkeeper for The Oaks Garage, Motor Supply Co, Ahlswede & Mohle, Butte Creek Country Club. She was very active in the Order of Eastern Star, several bridge clubs, Jobs Daughters and Rainbow Girls. She eventually found her true calling when she joined the Truth Church. There she aided the sick, taught Sunday school, was a leader in many actives as well as her favorite task, caring for the children. She is loved and respected by all she knew. There will be a visitation at Brusie Funeral Home on October, 22 from 6 to 8 pm. A Memorial service will be held at Truth Church at 12 p.m. Friday, October 23rd at 3870 Morrow Ln, Chico, Ca. A private graveside service will be held for family only. Donations may be made in her memory to: Truth Church, Wounded Warriors or Butte Hospice in care of the funeral home. We will always love and miss you mom, grandma, great grandma.
