Wayne E. Breed, age 83, of Stockton, Illinois, formerly of Elizabeth, Illinois died Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at the Morgan Memorial Nursing Home, Stockton. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth, Illinois. Reverend David Poust will officiate. Burial will be in Elizabeth Cemetery, Elizabeth, with grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2006 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth and a one hour visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday prior to the Funeral Services. Memorials may be given in Wayne's name for Boy Scout Troop #31 of Stockton or your local hospice. Wayne was born July 22, 1922 the son of Frank and Bertha (Hintz) Breed, in Stockton. He was a graduate of Stockton High School, Class of 1940. On June 18, 1942 Wayne married Reola M. McKillips in Elizabeth, Illinois. She died March 20, 2002 in Stockton. Wayne served in the United States Army Air Corp. from 1942-1945 stationed in England. Wayne worked briefly for Kraft Foods in Stockton before engaging in farming with his wife for over forty years on their dairy farm near Elizabeth. He was a member of the Elizabeth United Methodist Church, the Cavanaugh Masonic Lodge # 36 of Elizabeth, served on the Elizabeth School Board for seventeen years and held membership in the Jo Davies County Farm Bureau. Wayne enjoyed watching Chicago Cubs Baseball, Chicago Bears Football and local high school basketball games. He also loved playing cards with family and friends. Wayne will be dearly missed by his three daughters, Mary Jean (Mike) Miller of Baraboo, Wisconsin, Sally (John) Fischer of Stockton, and Darcy (Norm) Arnold of Stockton; six grandchildren, Brian (Leeann) Fischer of Arlington Heights, Illinois, Lori (Rob) Downing of Topeka, Kansas; Nathan Miller of Janesville, Wisconsin; Brad Miller of Baraboo, Wisconsin; Brandon and Evan Arnold of Stockton; two great grandchildren, Dylan and Shawn Fischer; two sisters in-law, Lois Coppernoll of Stockton; Jean Breed of Tucson, Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews. Wayne is preceded in death by both parents and his wife, Reola Breed, his brothers, Ross, Carson and Murnice, and three sisters, Earlene Hunt, Aleda Belle Albrecht and Verla Sturtevant.
