Services for Bertha W. Pate, 85, 1105 Fourth Ave. Road, who died Tuesday in a Nampa nursing home, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa, by the Rev. Leo W. Reed of the First Baptist Church.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
She was born on January 2, 1890, in Bengal, Oklahoma, and was reared in Wilburton, Oklahoma. She married Claude Jones on December 5, 1905, in Wilburton and they lived in Cambria, Oklahoma, operating a store. Mr. Jones died in August, 1913.
She married J. G. Pate on September 10, 1914, in Hartshorne, Oklahoma, and they lived in Heavener, Oklahoma, until moving to Richmond, California, in 1942. They came to Idaho in 1946. They moved to Richland, Washington, in 1948 and resided there until 1958 when they returned to Idaho. He had worked for the Atomic Energy plant in Hanford, Washington, for several years. Mr. Pate died in June, 1967.
Surviving are three sons, Claude Jones, Nampa, Harvey E. Pate, Claremont, California, and Curtis R. Pate, Lewiston; a daughter, Mildred B. Scott, Burlingame, California, and five grandchildren. Two sons and two daughters preceded her in death.
