Reva Gene Carter was born Dec. 28, 1911, and departed this life on Aug. 15, 2006, at 94 years of age. She lived all of her life in the Halltown area, was a homemaker and retired from Mo. State Sanitorium after 23 years as a diet cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd; her parents, Eula and Eugene Pyeatt; and brother, Orval Pyeatt. Reva is survived by her children, Morris and Emma Carter of Springfield, Brenda and Ron Myers of Halltown; grandchildren, David and Ellen Wilson and Brad Carter, all of Springfield, Del and Molli Wilson of Maple Valley, Wash., Ronda Myers of Mt. Vernon, Klista and Chad Hill of Miller; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, June Pyeatt of Brookline, and Jewell Dowdy of Mt. Vernon. Special thanks to Kay Johnson and her family for their loving care, and to Southern Care hospice. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South with services to follow at 11 a.m., with Rev. Tom Cochran officiating. Burial will be in Rock Prairie Cemetery, Halltown, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church or SW Special Care Homes, in care of the funeral home.
