She was preceded in death by her loving and supportive husband, Thomas Dabney Jr., loving daughter Thomasina E. Dabney-Johnson, loving granddaughter Ashley Jadine Duncan, loving nephew Rev. Robert Washington, as well as, Seven Siblings and other family members.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Evergreen Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky.
She moved to Houston, Texas in December, 2003 to be close to her daughter Cheryl L. Duncan and family. But while she was in Houston, Texas, she suffered from a stroke and could not live by herself. She lived with Anthony, Cheryl and two grandchildren Anthony and Ashley Duncan for four years. Then she moved to Washington, DC to live with her oldest daughter, Patricia C. Acquah, for the last eight years of her life on this earth.
She had a good sense of humor, flexible, punctual, disciplinarian, and would tell you what she thought about the situation. She loved to watch soap operas, knit, crochet, sew, read her bible, sing praises to the Lord and be with family and friends.
She entered Hospice/ Palliative Care three weeks ago at The Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC where she went home to be with the Lord, family members, and friends in Heaven!
She leaves to cherish her memory two loving daughters: Mrs. Patricia C. Acquah, (Washington, DC), and Cheryl L. (Anthony) Duncan, (Houston, TX); loving grandson: Anthony Thomas Duncan, (Atlanta, GA); two loving sister-in-laws: Mrs. Sara Barnes, (Mt.
