Johnston and husband Donald of Shreveport; one brother, Darryl Edwards of Houston, Texas; Step-Mother, Lucy Edwards of Oakdale; seven grandchildren, Keith Edwards, Vonda Boston, Vyron Edwards, Varonda Burnaman, Anthony Johnston, Heather Staffel, and Dwain Johnston; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; many friends and his extended family members and love ones.
He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church were he served as a deacon for 54 years until he became unable to attend. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, and retired from Boise Cascade.
