"Kathryn H. Maas, age 90 of Scribner, died Sunday October 18, 2015 at her home.
Kathryn was born April 13, 1925 near Scribner to Otto and Nellie ‘Gritton’ Lange. She was raised in the Scribner area, baptized on March 26, 1933 at St. John’s Ridgeley Lutheran Church and attended rural schools through the 8th grade. After her schooling she worked a variety jobs including her many duties at the Mead Ordinance Plant. She married Herman Maas on April 29, 1951. They lived and farmed west of Scribner. She was very involved in every aspect of farming. While on the farm she was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. They moved from the farm to an acreage in 1981, then into Scribner in 1989. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Scribner. She was very active with the Orphan Grain Train. She had a variety of hobbies including quilting, cards and her plants and flowers. She loved to travel all over the world. While in her 70’s, she went to Latvia and Russia to do mission work for the church.

Kathryn was preceded by her husband Herman in 1990; grandson baby Stiastny, granddaughter Lori Maas, 7 brothers and sisters.
The funeral is 10:30am Friday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Scribner. The Rev. Bruce Schut will officiate. Burial will follow in the Scribner Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at Ludvigsen’s Scribner Funeral Chapel from 3pm to 8pm with the family present from 6pm to 8pm."
