Lorene Barr, 88, of Benton, Il., died Friday, March 19, 2010 at Herrin Hospital, Herrin, Illinois. Mrs. Barr was born January 22, 1922 in Logan, Illinois the daughter of Simeon Moore Bell and Icea Dora (Smothers) Bell. She married Everett Edgar Barr in September 1942 and he preceded her in death in November 2001. Lorene was a homemaker and a member of the North Benton Baptist Church. She is survived by son, James (Pat) Barr of Indiana; daughter, Denise (Mark) Szaro, Carbondale; two grandchildren, four great- grandchildren; one great, great grandson; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Barr was preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven brothers and two sisters. Burial will be at the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, Illinois. Contributions may be made to North Benton Baptist Church.
