Phyllis Jean Popplewell Kidd Davenport, 82 of Danville, died Saturday October 17, 2015. Born December 13, 1932 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Enoch "R.E." and Ada Tapp Popplewell. Phyllis was Nurses Assistant at Haggin Memorial Hospital. She was a charter member of Pioneer Baptist Church in Harrodsburg and taught preschool for over 20 years. Phyllis was a member of First Baptist Church where she was an active member of Bertha Smith Women on Mission Group, and the Prime Timers Choir. She loved to sing and her favorite hymn was the Hallelujah Chorus. She and Harold were active in the Gideon's and she was a member of the Gideon's Auxiliary. In addition to her parents Phyllis was preceded in death by her first husband, Jesse Kidd, her second husband, Harold Davenport, and two brothers, Tommy Popplewell and Harold Weaver and a sister Mickey Ford.

Phyllis is survived by two daughters, Virginia (Thomas) Robinson of Frankfort, Susan (Eddie) Arnold of Danville, a son, Tim (Robin) Kidd of Harrodsburg, three sisters, Rayette Erwin of Danville, Patsy (Elmer) Coleman of Middleburg, and Judy Rice of Indiana, two brothers, Bob (Debbie) Popplewell of Stanford and Steve (Ann) Popplewell of Bardstown, four grandchildren, Cassie (Brad) Grigsby, Cory (Michelle) Robinson, Whitney (Kyle) Moore, and Dillon (Amanda) Kidd, and five great grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday October 21, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Mathis officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m., Tuesday October 20, 2015 at Stith Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be, Dillon Kidd, Cory Robinson, Matthew Robinson, Bob Popplewell, Robinson Cineus, and Zachary Breiner. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Bertha Smith Women on Mission Group. Memorial donations are suggested to Gideon's International.
