John F. “Jack” Koch, 86, formerly of Strasburg, passed away at Garden Spot Village on Friday, October 16, 2015. He was the husband of Martha I. (Myers) Koch for over 57 years.

Jack was a US Navy veteran and served at the former Bainbridge Naval Depot following WWII.

He worked as a plumber with his family’s plumbing business. Later, he worked in maintenance for Lampeter-Strasburg School district.

Jack and Martha attended Highview Church of God, Strasburg.

He was a member of Strasburg Lodge #361, I.O.O.F., Christian Lodge #417 F.&A.M., Lancaster Lodge of Perfection and Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Forest #27.

He volunteered with the Strasburg Fire Company #1 for many years and was a member of Lancaster County Fireman’s Association, and the Strasburg Senior Citizens.

Jack was an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed watching all kinds of sports.

Born in Strasburg, Jack was the son of the late William T. and Kathryn (Groff) Koch. In addition to Martha, he is survived by two sons: Garry Koch of Atlanta, GA, and Jeff married to Kim (Shultz) Koch of New Holland; a granddaughter, Kristine, a grandson, Eric and a sister-in-law, Nancy Koch of Centerville. Jack was preceded in death by a brother, William T. Koch, Jr., and a sister, Mary Rankin.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Graveside Service on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Strasburg Cemetery, Franklin and Funk Streets, Strasburg, PA with Pastor Tom Myers officiating.Bachman Funeral Home, Strasburg
