Our sweet Aunt Joyce passed away unexpectedly on the morning of October 16, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne L. D. Shepherd, her mother and father, Eula and John Simpson, and her brother, Robert Simpson. She leaves behind one sister, Violet Key of Columbia, LA.
Aunt Joyce was a loving, kind, and compassionate woman, never speaking a bad word about anyone. She was a devoted caregiver to both her husband, Wayne, and her mother, Eula Mama, as well as a devoted sister to both Bob and Violet. Although she never had children, Aunt Joyce loved her nieces, nephews, and their children as if they were her own. Throughout her adult life, she remained a loyal member of First Baptist Church in Bossier City.
Aunt Joyce selected Allen Brown, Zach Brown, Jonathan Estep, Ryder Miller, Rob Simpson, and Jason Thomas to honor her as pallbearers. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6.
