Mrs. Ella Marie (Everhart) Brown, 71, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Hospice Home at High Point with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 9, 1944 in Davidson County a daughter of the late Shuford and Frances (Perry) Everhart. After attending Appalachian State University she worked as a banker for 43 years. She retired from High Point Bank in 2006. She enjoyed shagging to beach music at Ocean Drive, singing and dancing to Brenda Lee and Elvis songs, and spending quality time with her family and friends. The center of her existence was her family and she would do anything for them. That same kind and loving nature also extended to her friends and the bonds she cherished over the years. Easily described as a one in a million lady, she will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a member of Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ in Lexington.
In addition to her husband she is survived by four sons, their wives, and their children; a daughter, her husband, and their children. She is also survived by a sister; a brother; father-in-law; and many special nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Everhart.
A celebration of life service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ, Lexington with Pastor Darrell Sluder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point.
