---With great sorrow Earl O. "Junior" Russell Jr., 79 of Burlington, died Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo surrounded by his loving wife and children.
---Junior was born on April 4, 1936 in Clarendon Township to Earl and Ethel Russell. He graduated from Tekonsha High School in 1954. On January 28, 1956 he married the love of his life, Wauneta B. Knapp in Burlington.
---Junior started Russell's Country Store in Battle Creek in 1961 "between the cornfields and the pasture" which is still operated by his family today. Along with running the store, he farmed his whole life raising cattle and crops. He was in the Silver Spur Riders Club and the Battle Creek Pony Association competing with his Shetland pony team, Tony and Jerry; later he enjoyed his draft horses Duke and Dan and for several years took part in the Prairieville Farm Days and horse pulls at the county fair. As a seasonal member of Tri-Lake Trails Campgrounds, he enjoyed camping, spending time with family and friends. Junior was an avid lover of music and dancing, loved hearing Wauneta's accordion and swinging her around the dance floor. He was also a member of the Model A Ford Museum at Gilmores and the Crank and Throttle Club of Olivet. Besides his family, Junior's main pride was restoring his 1955 Chevrolet cars. He even hauled them to Florida so he and Wauneta could enjoy them, taking them to car shows in the winter. - See more at: http://www.kempffuneralhome.com/obituary/Earl-Junior-O.-Russell/Burlington-MI/1545297#sthash.DhRPjjZq.dpuf
