Memorial service for Mrs. Richard (Grace Eliot) Scott, 98, a life-long resident of Portland, will be at 5 p.m. Sunday in the First Unitarian Church. Mrs. Scott, who resided at 1300 NE 16th Ave., died Friday at Holladay Park Plaza after a long illness. Born Sept. 13, 1875, in Portland, Mrs. Scott was the daughter of Dr. T. L. Eliot, first pastor of the church of Our Father — later the First Unitarian. She was a lifetime member of the church. From 1894 to 1908, she taught in schools at Hood River and Portland. She was a member of the League of Women Voters, the Urban League, the World Affairs Council, the Oregon Association of United Nations, the United World Federalists, the Portland Symphony Association, and a drama reading club. Mrs. Scott is survived by her sons, Henry, Weehawken, N. J., and Richard, Manila, the Philippines; daughter, Abigail Korson, Amherst, Mass.; sister, Henrietta Mack Eliot, Portland; brother, Samuel Ely Eliot, Pittsburgh, Pa.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
