Gerald and his wife, Lorraine, owned and operated the Clear Spring Hardware Store in their early years, then operated Ebersole Plumbing, Heating, and Appliance Company on National Pike, Clear Spring, for 32 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Clear Spring, where he served as Vice President in Sunday School and was on the council for several years.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 73 years, Mary Lorraine Ebersole, on October 5, 2014.
Gerald is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Elizabeth Younker, of Big Pool, and Geraldine Lorraine Sprecher, of Mercersburg, Pa; 2 sons, Paul Lester Ebersole, and Richard Allen Ebersole, both of Clear Spring; 10 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Gerald was preceded in death by his twin sister, Geraldine Elizabeth Jackson, and sister, Mildred Virginia Hull.
Services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Clear Spring; interment was at St. Paul's Cemetery, Clear Spring, Md; arrangements were by the Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., Clear Spring.
