Joel Alan Baker, age 31 of Fairmount, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015 at his residence. He was born on December 30, 1983 in Marion to James Paul and Monna M. (Mathias) Baker, both surviving in Fairmount. Joel was a 2003 graduate of Madison-Grant High School and this past spring, graduated from Ball State University with a B.A. in Film and Video Production. He was a member of the Marion Church of the Brethren. He was also an amateur photographer, taking photographs at James Dean Days, car shows and NASCAR races. Joel enjoyed participating in softball leagues with Liberty Friends Church. He had vast collections of music and movies, mostly from the 1970’s and 1980’s. Joel also liked to dote on his buddy, Roscoe, his brother’s dog.

Mathias, of Gas City; uncles, Harold (Cheryl) Mathais, of Gas City, Tony (Elaine) Mathias, of Penn., and Eric (Robin) Mathias, of Texas; as well as several cousins.
