Edith A. Morrison of 183 Maplecrest Avenue, Lakewood, N.Y., formerly of 2307 W. Main Road, Silver Creek, N.Y. died at the Lutheran Nursing Home in Jamestown, N.Y. on Friday October 16, 2015.
She was born October 2, 1917 in the town of Pomfret, the daughter of the late Frank S. Aldrich and Susan (Butcher) Aldrich. Edith graduated from Fredonia High School in 1935 and attended Dunkirk Business Institute. She married Richard H. Morrison on June 16, 1939. She and her husband ran a grape farm in Sheridan for nearly 50 years.
Edith was a member of the Sheridan United Methodist Church, a former member of the Sheridan Garden Club, Chautauqua County Home Bureau, Sheridan Happy Seniors, Sheridan Study Club, Sheridan Grange and the Sheridan Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Judith and Samuel Perry of Lakewood and a grandson David Perry of Lakewood, and many nieces and nephews.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, her parents and three brothers: Roy Aldrich of Buffalo, Richard Aldrich of Syracuse and Donald Aldrich of Florida. Calls may be made Monday from noon to 2 p.m. at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Avenue, Fredonia, N.Y., where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
