PASSAGE. Merril Helf, age 95, passed on Nov. 8, 2006 in Salt Lake City, UT. She was born on Jan. 18, 1911 in Canada to Curtis LeGrande Hatch and Mary Alice Funk. She married LeRoy J. Helf on October 29, 1932. Merril was a devout member of the LDS Church, and served as a Relief Society President, a Temple worker in the Seattle Temple, and all organizations of the church. She is survived by sons Leroy Jr., Richard, Duane (Sharon), LaVell (Mary) and Marc; daughters Arlene (Bob) Mejia, Helen (Wayne) Gentry, Shauna (Bill) Kelly; 34 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, sister Mildred Carter, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband LeRoy, daughters Joan May Helf, and Phyllis Sallazar, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral Services will be held November 11, 2 p.m. at the Lake Hills Mortuary, 10055 South State St. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Lake Hills Cemetery.
