John grew up in Manchester, IA, served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956 and was a graduate of the University of Iowa, Iowa City with a degree in Business Administration. He was employed by Griffin Pipe Products, Oak Brook and Downers Grove, IL for many years. John was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Naperville, enjoyed golfing and was an enthusiastic Chicago Cubs fan.
