Dr. Berglund was born on January 17, 1934 in Newberry, MI, a son of Victor and Marjorie (Cowell) Berglund and lived in Kalamazoo for over 50 years. He graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School and practiced medicine in Kalamazoo for 48 years. On June 22, 1956, he married Jill Kent, who survives. Also surviving are their children, Tracy (Thomas, Jr.) Curran of Ada, MI and Thomas, Jr. (Nancy) Berglund of Kalamazoo; nine grandchildren, Thomas III and Timothy Curran; Fidanka, Evvianna, Thomas III and Jacob Berglund; Emily, Amanda and Rachel Jackson; his brother, Daniel (Sue) Berglund, of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dr. Victor Berglund; and a sister, Doris Williamson. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 in St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 247 West Lovell St., at 11:00 AM with The Very Rev. Rebecca Crise officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 28, from 1-3 and 6-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Home, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. Please visit www.langelands.com for online obituary, directions, register book and condolences.
