PERRYSBURG, Ohio -- Pastor Jeffrey K. Nath, 42, of Perrysburg, Ohio, died unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005.

He was the first born to Karl and Judith (Peterson) Nath. He was born Sept. 6, 1962, and raised in Bloomington where he graduated from Jefferson High School in 1981. He went on to graduate cum laude in 1985 from Bethel Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minn. with a bachelor's in biblical and theological studies. He furthered his studies and graduated cum laude from Bethel College with a master's in divinity in 1990.

He began his work in the ministry as Associate Pastor of Music and Christian Education at Immanuel Baptist Church, Kenosha. It was there that he met his wife, Hope Hawkins. They were married Sept. 25,1993, and moved to Chippewa Falls when he accepted the position of Senior Pastor at Crossroads Church. He remained there from 1996 to the fall of 2003. In the fall of 2003, he accepted the call to serve as Senior Pastor from Oak Bend Church in Perrysburg, Ohio where he has served faithfully for almost two years. He was a gifted musician and singer. He enjoyed the computer and digital photography.

He is: the beloved husband of Hope Nath; devoted father of Rachel Hope and Sarah Grace Nath; son of Karl and Judith Nath of Bloomington, Minn.; brother of Karen (Jim) Lewis of Savage, Minn.; uncle of Hunter and Haleigh Lewis; and son in law of Marcia Hawkins of Arlington Heights, Ill.

He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Henry and Leah Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Nath; and father in law Harold Hawkins.

Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Oak Bend Church, 11275 Eckel Junction Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 where funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Bend Church, The Gideon's International, or a college fund for Rachel and Sarah.
