Died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1987, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 85, a native of Wilson and resident of Baton Rouge. He was retired owner of Bradford's Cafe. Visiting at Desselle Funeral Home, 1 to 4:30 p.m. Friday. Religious services at First Emanuel Baptist Church from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. G.R. Clark. Dismissal at 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Burial in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survived by a daughter, Mrs. Iola W. Brown, Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren, Gloria Hamilton, Leonard Brown Jr., Beatrice Alexander, Ruby Heatley, Barbara Berry and Carl Brown, all of Baton Rouge, and Rivers Brown, Kansas City, Mo.; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; other relatives; and friends, including Mrs. Amelia Alexander. Preceded in death by wives, Maranza Wilson and Carrie D. Wilson. He was a deacon of First Emanual Baptist Church more than 50 years.
