Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Jean Purifoy, 58, will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 19, 2006, at Proctor Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Richard May officiating. Burial will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 21, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
A native of Monroe and resident of Camden, Ark., Mrs. Purifoy died at her home Friday, May 12. She was a bookkeeper for the Stephens Water Department and a member of Gilgal Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her father, George Washington Austin; infant daughters, Stephanie and Stacha Hughes; and infant son, Hollis Hughes Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Derrell Purifoy of Camden; son, Edward Sturmer of Stuttgart, Ark.; daughter, Hollie Hughes of Camden; mother, Elodie Lucille Youngblood of Minden; step-sons, Michael Purifoy of Dumas, Ark., and James Purifoy of Camden; and eight grandchildren.
