Mrs. Amanda M. Scott
Mrs. Amanda Melvina Scott died at 5:30 this morning at the family residence, 210 South Ninth street, aged 78 years, 2 months and 11 days. Nervous prostration, complicated with paralysis caused her death. She has been bedfast for months.

Amanda M. Whetstone was born August 23, 1828, in Pennsylvania. At the age of 18 she was united in marriage to Ira Cox, and to this union three children were born. One died in infancy but a daughter, Mrs. Edith Ackerman of Pawhuska, Okla., and Rolla Cox of Arkansas, survive.

She was married to J.W. Scott on October 18, 1866, in Decatur county, Iowa. She joined the Baptist church at the age of 12 years, but afterwards united with the Methodist church. She was a member of the Eastern Star order for 19 years and an active member of the W.R.C.

The funeral will be held from the residence Wednesday afternoon and interment will be in the Robbins cemetery. The funeral will be under the auspices of the W.R.C. with Rev. Wharton of the Methodist church, officiating.
