A sad case of sudden death, from apoplexy occurred in Woodville, this county, on Sunday last, the 20th inst. William Rolf, went to church in the forenoon, ate a hearty dinner on his return and toward evening was sitting on his stoop when his wife went milking. After filling one pail she called to her husband to take it away but receiving no answer proceeded with her milking and upon returning to the house found her husband lying on his face, , dead.
The deceased was a hard working, industrious farmer and was supposed to be a very healthy man. He leaves eight children – the oldest under 9 years of age and the youngest (twins) aged two or three months – as well as his widow to mourn his sudden and untimely departure.
May He who is a father to the fatherless and a husband to the widow guide, guard and protect them.
