William Neal “Bill” Little, 82, of Carnesville, passed away Saturday afternoon at the Athens Regional Medical Center, from complications of Leukemia.

Born April 25, 1933 in Royston, he was the son of the late Harris Neal and Ola Taylor Little. He was a 1950 graduate of Franklin County High School, attended North Georgia College and received a BBA from the University of Georgia in 1954. He owned and operated H N Little and Company and Bill Little’s Boot Plus. He was a charter member of the Carnesville Lions Club and founding member of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, and served on the Carnesville DDA. He was a former director with First Bank and Trust, developed the first shopping center in Carnesville, was an avid photographer and loved to travel.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Kemp Little; three sons and daughter-in-law, Harris Neal II & Mary Little, Carnesville, Dettrick Allen Little, Carnesville, and Robert Taylor Little, Athens, GA; four grandchildren, Raymond Neal Little, Sara Frances Little, William Travis Clinton Little, and Robert Harris Little.

Private graveside services will be Monday morning at 11am at the Franklin Memorial Gardens North. A memorial celebrating his life will be held at 2pm Monday afternoon at the Carnesville Community Center.

The family will receive friends from 3 until 5pm Sunday afternoon at the Ginn Funeral Home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Franklin County Habitat for Humanity, P. O. Box 454, Lavonia, Georgia 30553, or to the charity of one’s choice.
