William (Bill) C. Kitchen Jr., 67, passed away Jan. 13, 2006 in DeFuniak Springs, FL. He was born on February 21, 1938 in Atlanta, GA, to William and Frances Lunford Kitchen.
Kitchen has been a resident of Freeport for the past 21 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving his country in the United States Navy. Kitchen had over 20 years of honorable service before he retired as a chief petty officer, E-7.
Kitchen is preceded in death by his parents, William C. Kitchen Sr. and Frances Lunford Kitchen, as well as one brother, Theodore Kitchen.
Kitchen is survived by his wife, Rodita S. Kitchen, of Freeport, Fl; one son, Charlie Kitchen; one step-son, Jay Bacolod; three daughters, Pamela Kitchen, Mary Kitchen, and Melinda Stahnke, and two step-daughters, Joy Rodocker and Joan Bacolod; one brother, Raymond Kitchen; one sister, Kayla McGaugh, and seven grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at Barrancas National Cemetery on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, with Father Flor Lagora officiating. The United States Navy performed military honors.
