A native of Jeanerette and resident of Plaquemine, Mr. Landry died at 11:07 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at Plaquemine Caring LLC in Plaquemine.
Mr. Landry was a retired state trooper for the Louisiana State Police for 17 years and was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Miller Landry of Jeanerette; his son, Merlin Landry Jr. of Jeanerette; two daughters, Margaret Curtis of Vermilion Parish, and Donna Landry of Indian Bayou; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Landry was preceded in death by his parents, George and Stella Faucheaux Landry; and his son, David "Bush" Landry.
David Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.
