Phyllis Jeane Gandee, 91, of Charleston, passed away Thurs. Oct. 15, 2015 at her residence.

She was born in Sissonville and made West Virginia her home. She was a homemaker and had worked as a dental hygienist earlier in her life. She had worked with Doctor Martin for several years.

Phyllis was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School.

She loved her family and enjoyed raising her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse B. Gandee who passed in 2005; both parents, Edgar and Myra Beane; siblings, Esther, Edith, Sidney, Beatrice, Gertrude, and Warren.

She is survived by her son, Jesse B. Gandee, II, of St. Albans; two grandchildren, Jennifer Lee and Jessie E.; three great-grandchildren, Zora, Lavani, and Juniper; sister, Doris Bailey of Beckley.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to all the kind and compassion caregivers that helped care for our mother and grandmother the past two years.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Mon. Oct. 20, at Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home, Charleston, WV with Paul Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Cemetery, Sissonville, WV. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations made to: Kanawha Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd, West, Charleston, WV 25387.
