Heaven gained an Angel, when Zachary “Zach” Campbell, age 13, of Watauga, ran straight into Jesus’s arms on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from the Niswonger Children’s Hospital. Zach was born on November 29, 2001 in the Johnson City Medical Center to Roy Campbell and Freda Daniels Campbell. Zach was preceded in death by his uncles, Rick Campbell and Bill Hambrick; a cousin, Christopher Arnold; two great aunts, Jewel Lewis and Evelyn Taylor; a great uncle, R.C. Bradshaw; and his grandmother, Barbara Martin.
Zach had attended Keenburg Elementary and attended Moore’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Zach was a joy to be around and enjoyed so many things! He loved to play with his cousins and friends, playing his X-Box and playing on his I Pad. He loved to play jokes and pranks on people and enjoyed MDA Camp with his buddies. Zach loved watching videos on YouTube and America’s Funniest Videos. He was known as the Assistant Manager of Trends Hair Salon, as the Assistant Manager he enjoyed “enforcing tickets” of the beauticians that did not have their name badges on, giving him also the title of “The Badge Police” of Trends. Zach enjoyed making crafts with his Aunt Dee and was made an honorary member of the Elizabethton Fire Department in 2013. He enjoyed the Special Olympics and was a multi-medal winner, but everyone that had the joy of knowing him knew, he WAS ALWAYS A WINNER!!!
Those left to live Zach’s amazing legacy and cherish his wonderful memories include his mother, Freda Campbell, of Watauga; his father and step-mother, Roy and Carla Campbell; his sisters, Ashley Tribble, Tina Fitzsimmons and her friend, Curtis Combs, Samantha Beauprez, Katie Beauprez; his two brothers, Daytona Denton and Austin Beauprez; his maternal grandparents, Bessie Hambrick, and William “Bud” Hambrick and Ray Daniels; his paternal grandparents, Roy and Joann Campbell and grandfather, Jerry Martin; his aunts, Rose and Mitchell Bowers, and Christel and Garnie Peterson; his great aunts, Freda Bradshaw and Emma “Sis” Honeycutt; his great uncles, Freeman Taylor and Howard Taylor; his very special cousin, Debbie Grindstaff and husband Bobby; his cousins, Tara Arnold, Tori and Jay Cook, Madison Peterson, Keaton Peterson, Hayley Arnold, Emory Cook, Cameron Campbell; his niece, Piper Warnick; his dogs, Rainbow and Chico; and his special friends, Kathy and Gerald Arnold, and Mary Baumgardner. A service to celebrate the beautiful life of Zachary “Zach” Campbell will be conducted at 7:30 PM on Sunday, October 18, 2015 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Paul Bennett, officiating. A eulogy will be provided by Garnie Peterson and a special poem will be read by his cousins, Haley and Keaton. Music will be provided by his cousin, Madison Peterson and Ronnie Blevins. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:30 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Sunday; or at the residence of his grandmother, Bessie Hambrick, 309 Merry Drive, Elizabethton, at any time.
The graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 19, 2015 in the Grindstaff Cemetery.
