Mr. Stanley Hugh Ketron
October 22, 1924 - January 26, 2013
Stanley Hugh Ketron, age 88, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 26, 2013.
Mr. Ketron was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. He worked as a printer for the Kingsport Times News. He was a HAM radio operator, whose call sign was K4RPX, and a self-taught electrician. Mr. Ketron served in the U. S. Navy as a gunners mate on the USS Laffey until he was honorably discharged in 1945.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Christley Elcaney Ketron and Marie Amanda (Overbay) Ketron; his wives, Barbara Eugenia (Hamlet) and Nancy Jean (Vermillion) Harris; and his son, Michael Lynn Ketron.
Mr. Ketron is survived by his children, Nancy Louise (Ketron) Frye and husband John of Jacksboro, TN, Patsy Jean (Ketron) Chavoustie and husband David of Indianapolis, IN, and Timothy Ray Ketron and wife Donna of Kingsport; grandchildren, Michael David Chavoustie, Gabrielle Elizabeth (Chavoustie) Horrocks and husband Thomas, Kathryn Jean (Chavoustie) Phillips and husband Michael, and Allison Leigh Frye.
A military graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Memorial Park on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 1:00 PM with Reverend David Templeton officiating and American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265 providing military honors.
Memorials may be made to the USS Laffey at Patriot's Point, Charleston, SC.
