He was one of four children born to Rex Lee Conway and Bonnie Lee (Stricklin) Conway. Bill grew up in the OKC area and graduated from Star Spencer High School with the class of 1960. He later joined the U. S. Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. While in the Army, Bill became a helicopter pilot and flew numerous missions during the war. After he was honorably discharged from the service he continued his passion of flying helicopters as a profession. For many years he worked and flew in the Gulf of Mexico area. His last job before retiring was flying as an Air Evacuation Pilot for Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. Bill will be remembered for the love of his country, love for his family and love for his animals. He was a kind hearted man who was always willing to help someone in need
