Mrs. Birdie Snoddy, 78, died Saturday evening at the Burch Nursing Home after a long illness. She was the widow of James Snoddy, a farmer near Bloomfield, who died in 1949.
Mrs. Snoddy had been a resident of Bloomington for several years, moving here after the death of her husband. She was born in Monroe County, the daughter of David and Armanda May Wright, and later lived in Greene County near Bloomfield. She was a member of the Switz City Christian Church.
Survivors include three sons, Lloyd Snoddy of Bloomington, Marvin Snoddy of Bloomfield, and Wayne Snoddy, Vincennes; a daughter, Mrs. Floyd Hubbard of Elnora; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a niece, Mrs. Alta Day, Route 5, Bloomington.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Allen Funeral Home chapel, in charge of the Rev. Lloyd Miller of Jasonville, with Jack Sullivan as soloist. Burial will be in the Clear Creek cemetery.
