John Hamilton Vidmar Sr., 82, of Taylorville, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at his residence in Taylorville. He was born January 9, 1933 in Taylorville, IL, the Son of William and Nellie (Patterson) Vidmar. He married Judith A. Souders on June 9, 1956 in Taylorville, IL and she later preceded him in death on April 27, 2014. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Local.
He is survived by his Daughter: Karen Vidmar of Taylorville, IL; Son: John (Pam Zuber) Vidmar Jr. of Assumption, IL; Grandchildren: Joseph Mercer, Christopher Mercer, Taylor Annamarie Vidmar, John Hamilton Vidmar III, Abigail Ashley Vidmar; Five Great-Grandchildren; Sister: Wanda Blount of Taylorville, IL; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Daughter: Kathy Allen Vaughn; Granddaughter: Ashley Allen, Brothers: Bill Vidmar, Don Vidmar, Myron Vidmar, Sister: Jean Smith.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville with Pastor Rodney Blomquist officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 18, 2015 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.
