Mr. Gehring served in the U.S. Navy. He was a WWII veteran. He was a PGA Pro at the Chantilly Manor Golf Course, Rising Sun, MD, and retired February of 1988. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Church, Perryville, MD; a Life Member of the Professional Golfer's Association of America; and a member of Rising Sun American Legion Post No. 194.

Mr. Gehring is survived by his wife, Frances Young Gehring , Rising Sun, MD. Mr. and Mrs. Gehring have been married 50 years. He is also survived by his son, David Glenn Gehring , North East, MD; and brother, Harry G. Gehring , Towson, MD.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 2, 2007, from 7 PM - 9 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, March 3, 2007, at the Good Shepherd Church, Perryville, MD. Father Jay McKee of Good Shepherd Parish will officiate.
