Madge Jane Lynn Kendrick peacefully transitioned into her heavenly body on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016.

Madge was born Feb. 22, 1924, in Walker County, Alabama. She was a resident of Gadsden since 1960.

She was preceded in death by her loving and faithful husband, Louie John Kendrick; infant son, Louie John Kendrick Jr.; parents, Emma and John Lynn; three sisters; and five brothers. She was also preceded in death by many “in-laws” who were truly brothers and sisters, along with many friends that had become her family members.

Kendrick lived an abundant life, loving and dedicating herself to her family and home. She never met a stranger and was filled with love, grace, compassion, and, of course, wit. She always was making you laugh, even when there were hard times. She especially loved babies and children. She gave cheerfully to anyone in need or just to show kindness and love. She was known for her incredible cooking and baking and beautiful yards, which she planted and maintained. She loved the Lord Jesus and sang about Him until she couldn’t.

She was a member of 12th Street Baptist Church; the Gadsden Women’s Club; and ABWA.
