Mr. Derek Wayne Rogers, age 36, a resident of Troy, was born on October 9, 1979 and left for his homecoming on Tuesday, October 12, 2015. Funeral services for Mr. Rogers will be held Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 2pm in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Rev. Chad Till, Pastor Kendrick Haynes, Director of St. Louis Dream Center – Genesis Men’s Home, and Scott Lipinsky, Executive Director of the Western Kentucky Teen Challenge will officiate. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 12-2pm.

Mr. Rogers loved and served the Lord. He was serving as Director of Education at Western Kentucky Teen Challenge and also served as choir director, counselor and had finally found true happiness in his calling to serve God. He was also a gifted artist, musician and an avid golfer.

Derek leaves his wonderful memories with his parents: Suzanne & Terry Rogers of Troy; Brother: Chase & Allyson (Railey) Rogers of Troy; Grandmother: Cleone Senn Rogers of Troy; Uncles: Tom & Carol See of Houston, TX, Ron & Sherri See of Orange County, CA, and Rodger & Susan See also of Orange County, CA; Aunts: Jackie & Gilbert Carlisle of Troy and Jane Senn of Brundidge; Cousins: Josh See, Erin & Aaron Nance all of Houston, TX, Beth Ann See, Brandon See of Orange County, CA, Alley, Collin & Blake See of Orange County, CA, Will Carlisle of Troy, Christy & Rob Smith of Panama City Beach, FL and Renee Senn of Brundidge and his girlfriend of 6 years, Brittany Lee, formerly of Troy.

Pallbearers will be Robert Yawn, Ray Floyd, Kyle Richburg, Eric Mitchell, Casey Kreis, Randall Barr, Jimmy Lunsford, Warren Walker. Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of the St. Louis Dream Center, Genesis Men’s Home and the staff of Western Kentucky Teen Challenge.

The family requests no flowers but for donations to be made to one of the following: St. Louis Dream Center-Genesis Men’s Home, 4324 Margaretta Ave., Saint Louis, MO 63115-2913 or Western Kentucky Teen Challenge, 231 State Route 2839, Dixon, KY 42409-9564.
