Clinton Howard Wilson, was born March 24, 1880, at Waterville, Le Sueur County, Minnesota, son of Andrew and Hannah (Homer) Wilson. The parents came to Waterville in the late 1850s and settled there on a tract of wild land, living first in a sod house, then in a log cabin, and finally in a frame house where Clinton, the youngest of three children, was born.

Clint attended the public schools in the neighborhood, took courses at the Faribault High School, and for three years taught in rural schools. As a young man he operated the home farm for several years.

In 1908, Clint came to Barron County, Wisconsin, and purchased an eighty acres tract of partly improved land in Section 21, Vance Creek Township. There he put up a good set of buildings and over time increased his holdings to 200 acres. There he engaged in general farming and dairying on an extensive scale.

On Oct. 1, 1920, Clint bought and operated the store at Reeve, Wisconsin, and built a fine residence there. In 1913 he was elected town clerk, a position he held for several years. He also held the position of clerk of his school district for a number of years.

On Nov. 25, 1884, Clint was married at Waterville, Minnesota, to Helen Stavemaugh, daughter of Samuel and Henrietta Stavemaugh. Their four children were: Florence, born in Waterville, Minnesota, and Ralph, June and Arthur, born in Vance Creek Township. Barron County, Wisconsin.
