Sudden Death of Ewing.

Salt Lake City.--Samuel C. Ewing, one of the best known hotel men in the west, and since 1871 prominently identified with Utah's mining interests, passed away at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, five minutes after he had taken an overdose of tincture of digitalis. The medicine had been prescribed for heart trouble, from which Mr. Ewing had suffered for several years. The indicated dose was ten drops. Mr. Ewing swallowed a teaspoonful.
