Funeral services for Bill L. “Shorty” Rodgers, age 64, of Bloomington Springs, TN, will be held1 PM, Friday, October 16th, in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Hufstedler officiating.
Interment will follow in Rodgers Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 15, 4-8 PM, and Friday, October 16, 10 AM to 1 PM, at Presley Funeral Home.
Mr. Rodgers passed away Tuesday, October 13 at the home of his daughter.
Billy L. “Shorty” Rodgers was born March 29, 1951, in Putnam County to Jess James and Annadora Denson Rodgers.
Mr. Rodgers had retired as a mechanic with the City of Cookeville. He enjoyed gardening and being outside and loved animals. He was a beloved father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Rodgers was preceded in death by brothers Charlie, Louis Marvin, Troy B, Junior, and Earl Wayne; by sisters Della Rodgers and Nell Shipley; and by brother-in-law Ernest Jackson.
Mr. Rodgers is survived by his wife Pam Rodgers of Smithville; by his three daughters, Angie Mayberry of Bloomington Springs, Cindy Nelson of Jackson County, and Danyelle Rodgers (Jason Flatt) of Sparta; and by one son, Billy W. Rodgers of Sparta; by ten grandchildren: Joseph, Samantha, and Haley Mayberry; Jordan and Dakota Rodgers; Erin Nelson; and Kira, Breiana, Zachary, and Spencer Flatt; and by two sisters, Winnie Jackson of Bloomington Springs and Edith Grandmaison of Rickman.
Pallbearers will be Adam and Allen Pryor, Jason Flatt, Joseph Mayberry, Rodney Walker, and Ron Young.
