CLYDE – Edith Rae Collins, 79, of Clyde died Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in the Hendrick Hospice Unit at Hendrick Medical Center.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2015 in the Voss Cemetery, Coleman County under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.
Mrs. Collins was born March 15, 1936 in Rising Star, Texas to Truman Harris and Hazel (Titsworth) Prestridge.
She is the widow of Billy S. Collins whom she married February 1952 in Ballinger, Texas.
Mrs. Collins was a member of the 7th Street Baptist Church, the Texas Federation of Porcelain Art and the Texas Teachers Federation of Porcelain Art.
Mrs. Collins is survived by five children, Randy Collins and wife Karen of Miles, Texas, Sue Harris and husband Randy of Andrews, Texas, Gary Collins and wife Frances of Odessa, Texas, Mike Collins of Ballinger, Texas and Trudy Collins of Clyde, Texas; sister-in-law’s, Louise Watson of Clyde, Texas and Shirley Collins of Lovington, New Mexico; eight grandchildren, Shawn Harris, Anthony Harris, Brandon Collins, Justin Collins, Aaron Collins, Alyson Collins, Kaci Halfmann and Kari Rector and respective spouses; 11 ½ great grandchildren, Hannah Pulin, Connor Halfmann, Mason Halfmann, Ava Rector and one on the way, Madison Harris, Ben Arnold, Matt Arnold, Ashlyn Collins, Grayson Collins, Emmy Collins and Weston Collins and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Iris Loehman and Toni Britnell; brother, Buddy Prestridge II and brother-in-law’s, Archie Watson and LeRoy Collins.
