Earl Lee Craig of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, October 5, 2012 in Fort Smith, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family. Earl was born December 11, 1932 in Shady Point, Oklahoma to Byron Con Craig and Ruth Frances (Shrum) Craig. Earl was 79 years, 9 months and 24 days old. Earl was a member of Winfield Baptist Church in Winfield, Arkansas. Earl married the love of his life Betty (Ryburn) in 1955. Earl was a proud U. S. Marine veteran of the Korean War and loved his country very much. He began his career in law enforcement in Oklahoma working for Tulsa City and Tulsa County Sherriff?s Department. During this time Earl found a very fun hobby that he enjoyed for many years, that was when he got his private pilots license. Later he became a long distance truck driver. When Earl and Betty moved to Waldron he loved law enforcement so much he became the Constable for Denton Township and later was a Court Bailiff for Scott County Circuit Court. Earl leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Betty of the home, one brother in law, Don Ryburn of Arlington, Texas and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Earl is preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Ruth Craig, one son, Rickie Craig and one brother Byron Con Craig, Jr. Earl?s life celebration will be 2:00 Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Doug Dobson and Rev. Wayne Fowler officiating. Interment will be in the Sehorn Cemetery in Winfield, Arkansas with Military Honors. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas. Earl?s pallbearers will be Kel Martin, Brandon Millard, Gerald Essman, Cody Carpenter, David Millard and Gary Clepper. Honorary pallbearers will be The Waldron Police Department, Scott County Sheriff?s Department, Scott County Constables and Judge James Forbes. Earl?s visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
