Mrs. Julia Hutchison McQuoid, wife of Robert McQuoid, passed away at her home on West Washington street about 7 o'clock Wednesday morning after a severe illness covering about four weeks. Death was due to heart trouble.
The deceased was born near Hookstown, PA., on April 26, 1829, and was thus in her 86 year. When but twelve years of age she came to Ohio with her parents, locating in Wayne township, where she resided until ten years ago when, with her husband and family she moved to this city.
On October 14, 1858 the deceased was united in marriage with Robert McQuoid, who with five children, Mrs. Charles McPherson, Mrs. Henry Benner and Mrs. J. C. Hayes, of Wayne township, Miss Ida McQuoid at home, and Rev. Thomas McQuoid of Youngstown, survive. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. M. A. Riley, of Cambridge who is the last surviving member of a family of fifteen children.
When but a young girl the deceased was united with the Bethesda Presbyterian church in Wayne township but later transferred her membership to the United Presbyterian church at Lebanon. After her removal to this city she became affiliated with the United Presbyterian church here, and has lived a life consistent with all its teachings.
The funeral services which will take place from the home on Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock standard time, will be private owing to the failing health of Mr. McQuoid, and interment will be made in the Lisbon Cemetery. Friends can view the remains Friday afternoon and evening.
