Obituary.

Clarence Morris, son of W.S. and L. Morris, was born in Warren Co., Kentucky, October 2, 1871. He removed with his parents to the vicinity of Augusta fourteen years ago. For several years he attended our city schools and became well known among our young people. He was a young man of steady habits and good ability with a promising future. He had recently completed a course of study in the Business college at Winfield and was looking forward to a mercantile career. But his hopes were not destined to be realized. About six weeks ago he was attacked by an illness which deepened into malignant typhoid fever, and after much suffering ended in death on Sunday September 17th.

Although the event was not unexpected yet it came as a severe blow to the family and especially to the mother who is herself suffering from a severe attack of the fever. In early life he had experienced religious impressions but had never publicly professed Christ. During the last few days of his illness however he happily gave himself to the Savior.

The funeral services were held at the family home, seven miles southwest of town on Monday afternoon and the remains laid to rest in the Fairview cemetery. The family have many friends who sympathize with them in this severe affliction.
