Sarah Slaughter James, 75, resident of Salt Lake City for 44 years died Monday evening in a Boise, Ida. Hospital after a lingering illness.
She had been making her home in Boise with a daughter Anna May Robison for the past year.
A native of Beaver, Utah, she was born Aug. 18, 1876, a daughter of Samuel M and Annie Huey Slaughter. She attended school in Beaver and Salt Lake City and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was married to John Phillip James in 1897 in Frisco, Utah. He died on May (?)0 1948.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. R(?) Boise, and Mrs. Evelyn J. Fehr, Salt Lake City, and son, John Theron James Bremerton, Wash., seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Frank Osborn, Milford; Mrs Hugh Sackett, Long Beach Calif., and Mrs, Carl T. Madsen, North Hollywood, Calif., and three brothers, Henry Slaughter, Bakersfield, Calif., John Slaughter, Clearfield, and Walter Slaughter, Kimberly, Ida.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 12:15 p.m. in the Ensign Ward chapel, Ninth Ave and D St. Friends may call at 260 East South Temple St. Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11:30 p.m.
Place of burial to be announced.
