He is survived by his wife, Sarah; children: Kathy , Tom , Nadine , Steve and Dave ; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Norma and Wanda.
He was born Dec. 20, 1925, in Springfield, the son of Henry Edward and Ethel Elizabeth Jurgens Benner. Don was a retired farmer in the Williamsville area. He worked for Williams Township Cemeteries as Cemetery Manager and board president. He was president of the Elkhart Grade School Board and a member of the Mt. Pulaski School Board. He was a member of the Williamsville United Methodist Church, Elkhart American Legion, and Williamsville Community Foundation. He also volunteered at the Williamsville Historical Museum. Don was a WW II Navy veteran serving in the Pacific.
Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Williamsville.
