Bill L. Morris, 87, of Spencer, went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Hearthstone Health Campus in Bloomington. He was born July 10, 1928 in Monroe County to Mack and Eva (Pietzuch) Morris. He was a 1947 graduate of Spencer High School. He served in the National Guard for 20 years. He was the owner of Spencer Monument Works and helped run day to day operations of Riverside Cemetery. He was a member of the Spencer Methodist Church where he served on the church council, was choir director and taught Sunday School. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing Euchre.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Mary Ruth Dunigan- Morris; his daughter Karla Vedder (Tom) of Spencer; Mary’s children, Tom Dunigan of Bloomington, Andy Dunigan (Jill) of Avon, Jane Dunigan- Smith (Rodney) of Greenwood; brother, Richard Morris of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Kristan Crecelius, Morgan Vedder, Brocklan Eppert, and Ashlan Vedder; great grandchildren, R.J., Desirae, Braiden, Dannika, and Baize; and Mary’s grandchildren, Connor Smith, Quinn Smith, Kathryn Dunigan, and Caroline Dunigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Roberta (Schmalz) Morris to whom he was married for 49 years, enjoying time with their daughter and grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 4pm, Thursday, October 15, 2015 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2pm until the time of the service Thursday at the Funeral Home.
