Ruth L. McKinney, age 90, of Bristol, Va., passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at NHC of Bristol. She was born March 31, 1925 in Quincy, Mass., a daughter of the late Ralph and Edith Gonia Milliken.
Ruth was a member of Blountville Presbyterian Church. She served as a church organist for 70 years including several years at Blountville Presbyterian.
Ruth was a volunteer with Adult Education and Big Brothers/ Big Sisters organization.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clifford McKinney.
She is survived by her children, Dale McKinney and wife Agnes, Carl McKinney and wife Kathy, Paul McKinney and wife Linda, and Joyce McKinney Berner and husband Kurt; ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; brother, George Milliken; sister, Carol Milliken; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 8 pm Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Robinson officiating.
The interment will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sunrise Cemetery.
A procession of family and friends will leave the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alan McKinney, Eric McKinney, Mark McKinney, Patrick Buchanan, Mick Caudill and Evan Rasnake.
