Mrs. Ruby “Evelyn” Richardson, age 94, of Barnesville passed away Monday, October 12, 2015 in a Barnesville healthcare facility.


A native of Lamar County, Mrs. Richardson was the daughter of the late Mr. William Alvah Caldwell and the late Mrs. Annie Mae McBroom Caldwell. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James T. “Duke” Akins, her second husband, Ralph Richardson, three sisters; Bertha Revell, Irene Poss and Virginia Caldwell and by her brother, Jack Caldwell. Mrs. Richardson was retired from the William Carter Company, and was a member of the Aldora Pentecostal Church. She loved to travel and was a very independent woman throughout her life.

Mrs. Richardson is survived by nieces and nephews, Daphne Caldwell Alimi, Deanna Caldwell Reese, Debbie Caldwell Brown, Diane Caldwell Hardy, Denise Caldwell Woodard, William Douglas Caldwell, Greg Poss and Judy Poss Mount as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Richardson will be conducted Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home with the Reverends Randy Reese and Greg Poss officiating. Interment will follow in the Milner Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 2 p.m. until the service hour.
